District Name ChangeThe name change unanimously voted upon by the Town of Clinton Board of Education at its November 24, 2009 meeting has been officially approved by the State Board of Education. Previously named the Town of Clinton Board of Education and Town of Clinton School District, the revision of its by-law changed the names to The Clinton-Glen Gardner Board of Education and The Clinton-Glen Gardner School District. We will retain Clinton Public School as our school name.
The change occurred as a result of a law passed by the New Jersey State government which required the elimination of non-operating school districts and the creation of a merged district between the non-operating and the receiving school.
We believe that our most productive reaction to the forced merging of districts is to create opportunities to build upon the existing bond between Clinton and Glen Gardner. Our hope is that this name change serves as a symbolic act in fostering a new beginning for our restructured school district.
