Reading and Writing Workshop
Our reading and writing workshop is a very busy time in our classroom! The students will be taking part in mini lessons, independent work time, small group instruction, teacher/student conferences, and take time to share their work too!
The student reading log will be kept in your child's homework folder, will be completed daily at home, and should be turned in every Friday. Students are asked to read a total of 60 minutes a week, or 15 minutes each day(Monday-Thursday). Students can use their reading log to keep track of their 100+ Book Challenge.
Math
GO MATH
In math, the students will use the Go Math program along with online resources, such as Xtra Math(which they can use at home) to practice basic facts.
Science/Social Studies
In September, we will start with SS and will learn about the 5 regions of the United States of America, starting with the Northeast Rebion. It's a great time to talk about the various climates, landscapes, and states included in each one. We will also discuss the many landmarks and attractions in each region.
