PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS AND DISCIPLINE POLICY
To ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all students, participants in the Before and Aftercare Program are expected to:
- Follow all school district rules and code of conduct
- Respect staff, peers, and property
- Use appropriate language and behavior at all times
- Follow directions from staff promptly
- Keep hands, feet, and objects to themselves
- Participate cooperatively in activities
- Clean up after themselves and help maintain shared spaces
UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIORS
The following behaviors are not permitted and may result in disciplinary action:
- Physical aggression (hitting, kicking, fighting)
- Bullying, harassment, or intimidation
- Disrespectful or defiant behavior toward staff
- Destruction of school or program property
- Inappropriate language or gestures
- Leaving designated areas without permission
- Any behavior that compromises the safety of others
REMOVAL FROM PROGRAM
Serious infractions of the program’s rules or continued instances of behavior—such as those that compromise the safety of any child, undermine staff authority, or involve excessive disruption—will result in a written or verbal incident report and may lead to a temporary suspension from Child Care.
If such behavior becomes chronic (no more than three instances), the Child Care Director will, when appropriate, meet with the parent/guardian to discuss alternative solutions and determine the child’s continued participation in the program.
Repeated incidents or failure to demonstrate improvement may result in permanent removal from the program.
- Immediate removal may occur for severe behaviors, including but not limited to:
- Fighting or physical harm
- Threats or intimidation
- Serious destruction of property
