CHARACTER EDUCATION

Character Education has always been a part of the Clinton Public School experience.  As is written, "The Clinton-Glen Gardner School District is a community which values traditions. Our MISSION is to nurture and cultivate each child to be a compassionate, curious, and creative thinker, entrusted and empowered to build and lead the future."  Character Education fosters these skills by building on and supporting the seeds you, the parents, have planted.
This year at Clinton Public School, we are continuing our Character Education program.  Each month we will be promoting a positive character trait through classroom activities, inspirational bulletin boards, announcements, themed weeks, and incorporating all the wonderful lessons that are being taught at each grade level.

Here is an outline of the traits we will be focusing on throughout the school year:

  • RESPECT - September & October - WEAR YELLOW!
    •  September 29th
    •  October 20th
  • CARING - November & December -  WEAR RED!
    • November 17th
    • December 15th
  • CITIZENSHIP - January & February - WEAR PURPLE!
    • January 26th
    • February 23rd
  • RESPONSIBILITY - March - WEAR GREEN!
    • March 22nd
  • FAIRNESS - April - WEAR ORANGE!
    • April 26th
  • TRUSTWORTHINESS - May & June - WEAR BLUE!
    • May 17th
    • June 7th

We hope that you will join us in promoting the monthly character traits.  You may visit the Clinton Public School website for a list of resources and suggested activities for you and your family to work on together.

In addition, as students are "caught in the act" of demonstrating a positive character trait, they will receive a Good Character Award. Students can also click here to give Good Character Awards to one-another!
