The Child Study Team (CST) is composed of professionals who provide consultative, evaluative, and prescriptive services to teachers and parents. The team has a number of responsibilities including consultation, identification, diagnosis, classification and formulation of recommendations for remediation of various learning disabilities. Team members also serve as Case Managers for students receiving special education and related services and work closely with both special education and regular education teachers to develop students' Individual Education Programs. (I.E.P.). The Child Study Team consists of Learning Consultant, Psychologist, Social Worker and Speech/Language Specialist (for preschoolers) as required by the New Jersey Department of Education.

The Learning Consultant (LDTC) is trained to assess the learning styles of students, to evaluate the achievement levels in the core content areas (reading, written language, mathematics and language (listening comprehension and oral expression) and to recommend specific teaching methods and strategies that may benefit a student.

The school psychologist areas of expertise are determining a child's level of cognitive and conceptual development. The School psychologist also assesses the emotional status of the student, and how both internal and external factors may affect behavior and performance in school. The school psychologist works collaboratively with the teachers to maximize a student's potential.

The Social Work is trained to assess the student relative to the family, the school, and the community. This professional generally gathers information concerning the student's health, family, and school history as it pertains to the student's current school functioning. The Social Worker is also the professional responsible for coordinating community resources on behalf of students and their families. Counseling is also provided by the School Social Worker for classified students.
RELATED SERVICE PROVIDERS
Related services help children with disabilities benefit from their special education by providing extra help and support in needed areas, such as speaking or moving. Related services can include, but are not limited to, any of the following:
I.Speech and Language Therapy
Speech-language pathology services are provided by speech-language professionals and speech-language assistants, in accordance with state regulations, to address the needs of children and youth with disabilities affecting either speech or language.

OT services can enhance a child’s ability to function in an educational program and may include such services as:
self-help skills or adaptive living (e.g., eating, dressing);functional mobility (e.g., moving safely through school);positioning (e.g., sitting appropriately in class);sensory-motor processing (e.g., using the senses and muscles);fine motor (e.g., writing, cutting) and gross motor performance (e.g., walking, athletic skills);life skills training/vocational skills; and psychosocial adaptation.
III. Physical Therapy
These services generally address a child’s posture, muscle strength, mobility, and organization of movement in educational environments. Physical therapy may be provided to prevent the onset or progression of impairment, functional limitation, disability, or changes in physical function.
